از دوران مغول و تیموری و صفوی به این سو، تا نیمههایِ دورهیِ قاجار، همچنان که سیلِ واژههایِ عربیتبار را به فارسی سرازیر کردند، قاعدههایِ دستوریِ آن زبان را هم به فارسی زورآور کردند و زباني ساختند دورگه با دو دستگاهِ دستوری و واژگانیِ ناساز، تا آن جا که سرانجام از دلِ «فارسیِ دری» فارسیِ «دَری-َوری» بیرون آمد که میراثِ ناهنجارِ آن هنوز بر ذهنها و زبانها و قلمها سنگینی میکند.
